I Love My New Choos

So . . . totally random and unexpected but another item is scratched off the old life list today. "103. own a pair of Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos." (yes, I put silly superficial things on my list to compensate for all the hard work of triathlons and marathons and such). Don't get the wrong idea and think I'm blowing my budget, they were a gift from a particularly wonderful and generous person.

I just love love love them. Yippee!

I Cannot Believe Nobody Called Me

Thanks a lot, Regis Philbin. I know it was because you didn't want me to smoke your co-host Kelly and all, but, frankly, I really coulda used that $25,000.

A 150-Yard Dash... in Stiletto Heels?

Mark Remy

Women run in high heels every day—after cabs or buses, through airports, away from me. Today in Central Park, however, they'll be running for cash. That's right: It's the first ever High Heel-a-thon, a 150-yard dash in New York's Central Park wherein all the runners will wear high-heeled shoes.

Described by the organizers as "a spirited dash to raise money for the March of Dimes," today's race is brought to you by the good folks at TV's LIVE With Regis and Kelly. (Co-host Kelly Ripa will be among the competitors.)

Laugh if you like, but apparently this is serious stuff—the prize purse includes 25 grand for first place. And the race will be chip-timed. (Seriously.) We slipped into a fabulous pair of Marc Jacobs patent leathers and spoke with Michael Gelman, executive producer of LIVE, for more details...

30-day shoe challenge for the month of June

So I did indeed "purge" my closets (although binging sounds like more fun) this weekend. And in this purge I am getting rid of about three huge shopping bags of clothes, two huge garbage bags of random crap that is undonate-able, and 36 pairs of shoes!!! No worries... my shoe closet is still full with about 70 some left. Isn't that just plain ridiculous?! Good thing I get crazy good bargains...

The other great part is that I found shoes in boxes that I totally forgot that I had.

Anyhow, I shared this knowledge with my coworkers and everyone was slightly appalled and in disbelief. So we agreed that the best idea to make sure I was getting my money's worth was to do a "30-day shoe challenge" where I wear a different pair on each day.

I will share a photo of my newly organized shoe closet tonight (its so pretty!). Until then I'm doing pretty well with my challenge:
Sunday, June 1: I wore my classic black Haviana flip-flops
Monday, June 2: I'm wearing my newish sweet pale pink satin and glossy ivory wedges with cork trim.

Oh my goodness... this is fun already!
