My Sick Cat and My Worried Niece

My 18-year-old cat Midnight is not faring well lately folks. Hopefully you will not be getting any other updates and that she'll just start feeling better.

In the meantime, I thought I would exchange how awesome my 4-year-old niece Madeline is.

On my phone call today, I asked Madeline if she would pray for Midnight before she went to bed.

She said "No. I don't pray before bed. I pray when I'm in church with my Mom because that's where all that praying stuff happens."

Later Jessica reports another conversation with Maddy (she had no idea about my conversation with her earlier):
Maddy: Mommy, you look nice. Are you going to church?
Jessica: No, I'm going to dinner.
Maddy: Is church open today?
Jessica: Probably.
Maddy: Can we go later?
Jessica (clueless) Um, no, because you'll be in bed when I come home. How about Sunday?
Maddy: No. I have to go tonight so I can pray for Midnight.

TOO CUTE!

The Latest Trend

Seriously... it started with these two funny photos of me with my niece and nephew... and then I started hunting and realizing, crap, I need to shut my damn mouth.

Rugrats in Tow

Today is the day! My 4-year-old niece Madeline and 1 1/2 year-old nephew Eli are coming to Boston for a long weekend today! Of course they are also bringing my sister Jessica and my brother-in-law Bill as well. Apparently Madeline last night wanted to go to bed as early as 7pm because she was so excited about today (me too but I had cookies to ice and and a website to update for a freelance client). It will be a fun weekend of Red Sox, picnics, and lots of play! The only unfortunate thing is that it comes on a ridiculous week of work... I'm slammed and really need to squeeze in some later nights or weekend working for a presentation on Monday (and a hundred other deadlines) -- may have to do some working through Dora the Explorer or something this weekend. Boo.

So although I hope to sneak out one or two quickie runs in, the training will slow down a little. I did 4 1/2 last night (in fast speed too!)... but we'll be walking a lot and I'll be picking up a long run on Monday night. I think its okay though actually because I picked up a lot of mileage last week and should back off a little and rest my muscles that are in shock right now so I can start adding mileage more gradually.

I Have Another Addiction Beyond Lists

In fact, I should enter some support group because I'm so obsessed beyond normalcy.

I have the world's cutest damn nephew and niece ever. Cuter now that Eli has had a new haircut (he was looking a little Jon Bon Jovi-esque which is slightly disconcerting for a 15-month old).

During (warning, the sound here is BRUTAL so don't have your sound all the way up!):

and After (turn your sound back on... so cute!):
